Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture in Australia is seeking an SRE to take production ownership of a large-scale E-commerce platform. You will focus on reliability, observability, and automation across cloud-native service mesh architectures.

You will define SLOs, lead incident response, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure scalable, resilient systems and rapid releases in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux OS internals and networking.
• Experience writing code in Java, Go, Python or similar languages.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
• Experience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems and apps using various coding scripting standards.
• Systematic problem-solving approach with effective communication and drive.

Responsibilities

• Own the service level of a critical, revenue-generating E-commerce platform and supporting infrastructure.
• Define service level indicators and objectives to uphold uptime and latency targets.
• Collaborate cross-team with engineering and product for capacity planning and launch reviews.
• Implement automation for infrastructure-as-code, scalability and resiliency.
• Manage incident response, post-mortems, and participate in on-call rotations.
