Job summary

Canva is seeking a Data Scientist in the Video Group to help shape data-driven video experiences. You will validate UX via experiments, build dashboards for performance and adoption, and partner with Product, Engineering and Design on strategic data-driven opportunities.

Join a team focused on delivering fast, scalable video tools in a hybrid Sydney-based setup. Strong background in STEM and SQL/R/Python is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use data to influence business decisions and growth.
• Strong technical fundamentals: hypothesis-driven problem solving, SQL, numerical reasoning, metric design and forecasting, data storytelling.
• Experience with experimentation, analytic events, and data warehouses.
• Comfort with large datasets and proficiency in R or Python.

Responsibilities

• Validate new UX through experiments with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to drive meaningful product changes.
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor performance metrics, latency, error rates, and adoption/retention.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Design to translate insights into fast, data-driven decisions.
