Job summary

Canva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the backend experimentation platform within Rollout Insights. You will shape the direction of how experiments are configured, targeted, and measured, and mentor other engineers as part of a senior technical leadership team.

You’ll collaborate with Canva’s engineering and data science groups, advancing AI-enabled analytics and ensuring robust, scalable experimentation across the company.

Qualifications

• Backend platforms: built backend systems used by other engineers on critical paths.
• Experimentation at scale: deep experience with A/B testing, feature flags, or rollout systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across Canva's backend experimentation platform.
• Evolve and own platform capabilities for setting up experiments, targeting users, and measuring outcomes.
• Drive platform adoption and cross-team collaboration to ensure reliable experimentation.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering to advance AI-enabled analytics and automation.
