Job summary

University of Sydney invites an outstanding academic leader to serve as Deputy Dean (Research) / Associate Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Medicine and Health. You will guide strategic direction across the research portfolio, drive excellence, translation and impact, and collaborate with the Dean, Heads of School and external partners.

You will shape priorities, oversee governance, and foster a high-performing research community while aligning with Strategy 2032 and national/international

Qualifications

• PhD with a distinguished record of academic and research achievement including competitive funding and supervision.
• Proven experience leading research strategies and translating priorities into measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of governance, policy requirements and research integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of Faculty-wide research priorities.
• Advance research performance, capability, collaboration, translation and impact.
• Strengthen strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Translate FMH and University Strategy 2032 into meaningful outcomes.
• Build a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative research culture.
