Job summary

The University of Sydney invites applications for a Deputy Dean (Research) / Associate Dean (Research) to provide strategic leadership across the FMH research portfolio and advance research excellence, collaboration and impact.

Reporting to the Dean, FMH, the appointee will shape Faculty-wide priorities, drive investment, workforce development and governance, and build strong partnerships with industry, government health and community organisations to maximise translation and impact.

Qualifications

• PhD with a distinguished record in research and competitive funding.
• Significant academic leadership experience within a university or research environment.
• Proven ability to develop and implement research strategies and deliver measurable impact.
• Strong understanding of funding, governance, integrity and policy requirements.
• Excellent relationship-building to unite diverse disciplines and stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring researchers and fostering inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Established national and international research partnerships.
• Outstanding communication and strategic advisory abilities.
