Job summary

The University of Queensland (UQ) is seeking a coordinated Teaching Laboratory and operational support specialist to join the VETS Clinical Studies Centre. You will coordinate daily teaching lab operations, manage inventory, and provide technical and instructional support for undergraduate practical teaching, workshops and seminars.

Reporting to the Centre Manager and working with veterinary and animal care professionals, you will contribute to high-quality animal care and a positive student

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and current driver licence.
• Experience with animal husbandry, handling and care of dogs, cats, birds, horses, pigs and sheep.
• Experience in laboratory teaching/technical environments and with cadavers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily operation of the Teaching Laboratory, class preparation, inventory and stock rotation.
• Provide professional medical, surgical and technical support, including anaesthesia and post-operative monitoring.
• Assist with preparing animals, equipment and facilities for teaching classes and practical surgery.
• Support practical teaching and continuing education activities with academic staff and students.
• Contribute to Centre operations through record keeping, customer service and administrative support.
