Job summary

Peninsula Veterinary Surgery in Redcliffe is seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our busy small-animal practice in a full-time role. You will work alongside veterinarians supporting clinical and surgical cases and also assist with reception duties as needed.

We offer no after-hours, weekends, or overtime, a supportive team, ongoing training, and a varied caseload with opportunities to advance. Ideal candidates have Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and solid client-care skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Veterinary Nurse with Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in small animal clinical practice preferred; motivated new nurses encouraged to apply.
• Confident in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical assistance.
• Calm under pressure and able to multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong team player with a positive, professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Surgical nursing assistance including anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery.
• Patient handling, restraint, and pre- and post-operative care.
• Medication administration and inpatient care.
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and laboratory work.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Client communication and education.
• General reception and front-of-house support when required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment.
