Job summary

Animal Referral Hospital Canberra is seeking a Veterinary Nurse Assistant for a part-time late shift (4pm/5pm to 2am). Join a dedicated team delivering high-quality care to hospitalized patients.

You will support nurses and vets, help with daily care, medication administration, and ensure hospital hygiene. Ideal candidates are enrolled or completed Vet Nursing qualification, adaptable, and have good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Completed or currently enrolled in Vet Nursing qualification.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Compassionate care for animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians as required.
• Monitor and care for hospitalized patients under ECC guidance.
• Administer medications as directed by the ECC team.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of hospital facilities.
• Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion.
• Wash, restock disposables and medications in pharmacy.
• Support nurse-led daily routines for patients.
