Job summary
The Animal Referral Hospital Canberra is seeking a Veterinary Nurse Assistant for a part-time late shift (4pm–2am) to join our compassionate care team.
You will assist nurses and veterinarians, monitor inpatients, and help with medications, while ensuring hospital cleanliness and animal welfare in a fast-paced environment.
The role provides hands-on experience with advanced equipment and a supportive team culture; applicants enrolled in Cert IV in Vet Nursing are welcome to apply.
Qualifications
- Completed or currently enrolled in Cert IV in Vet Nursing, Associate Degree of Vet Nursing or Bachelor's Degree of Vet Nursing.
- Previous experience in the animal care industry is desirable.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians as required.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients under supervision.
- Administer medications as directed by the ECC team.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of hospital facilities.
- Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion.
- Animal cage cleaning and re-setting, cleaning patient bowls.
