Job summary

RSPCA NSW Hunter Veterinary Hospital in NSW is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to join a highly supportive team. You will consult on a diverse range of companion animals, perform desexing and soft tissue surgeries, deliver dental care, and may scrub in on orthopaedic procedures if you are confident.

You will work with skilled nurses in a collaborative setting and contribute to animal welfare initiatives.

• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a compassionate outlook.

Responsibilities

• Consult with a diverse range of companion animal patients and the clients who care for them.
• Perform desexing and soft tissue surgeries.
• Deliver quality dental care and oral surgery.
• Have the opportunity to scrub in on orthopaedic surgery or take them on yourself if you are confident.
• Work alongside skilled veterinary nurses and support staff in a collaborative environment.
• Provide guidance to the community on animal health, behaviour and welfare matters, with opportunities to be part of Outreach efforts in rural and remote NSW and participate in media campaigns.

About the role

We're seeking a veterinarian who combines sound clinical skills with a passion for animal welfare. You'll have:
