Job description

We are seeking an inspiring, dynamic and experienced educator to lead our Vocational Education and Training program and Careers advisory faculty that will assist our students to move confidently from school into further study, training and work.

Situated in the heart of the Lachlan Valley in Central West NSW, Red Bend Catholic College is a co-educational Years 7-12 Catholic Day and Boarding school in the Marist tradition. The College educates over 860 students from rural, regional and remote areas to provide an extensive Catholic education. Our core purpose is to make Jesus Christ known and loved through the rich experiences of College life, which includes a clear focus on academic care, wellbeing, boarding, co-curricular and sporting experiences.

Within this middle leadership opportunity, the primary focus of the VET/Careers Coordinator is to work closely with students, families, teachers and the leadership team. You will guide students in making informed subject and pathway choices, coordinate VET delivery and work placement in partnership with registered training organisations, and build strong relationships with local employers, TAFE, universities and community organisations. Your work will ensure that every student, whatever their goals, has access to meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom.

The successful applicant for this position will bring a strong understanding of NSW senior secondary pathways, including VET, HSC and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in careers advising, VET coordination or pathways education is highly regarded, as is knowledge of the regional employment landscape.

This position of responsibility will be a contract position of 3 years + 3 Years.

Candidates will be given the opportunity to apply for the combined VET/Careers Coordinator position or alternatively, candidates may choose to apply for either the VET Coordinator or Careers Coordinator individually.

The primary position of Teacher is full-time permanent where the focus is on the studentsthrough the creation of a positive and disciplined learning environment:
