Job summary

Pro Dive Cairns, part of the Quicksilver Group, is seeking an experienced Skipper to join our liveaboard dive fleet based in Cairns. This part-time role offers four days per week with the potential for extra days during peak periods.

As Vessel Master you will safely command and navigate the vessel, lead daily operations, manage onboard crew, oversee maintenance, monitor weather, and ensure AMSA compliance while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• PADI Rescue Diver certification required within the first month.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience as skipper or vessel master at sea.
• Strong safety-first mindset with guest-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Safely command and navigate vessel in varying sea conditions.
• Lead daily vessel operations including mooring and logistics.
• Manage onboard crew to maintain safety and guest service.
• Oversee vessel maintenance and assist with engineering tasks.
• Monitor weather and adjust navigation as needed.
• Ensure AMSA regulations and Safety Management Systems compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs and operational records.
• Represent the company professionally to guests during voyages.
