Job summary

The Kooyong Hotel, part of Australian Venue Co., is seeking a Venue Manager to lead and inspire a busy F&B operation in Mackay. You’ll drive guest experiences, develop the team, and own day-to-day execution with strong support from Head Office.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in venue management, P&L insight, and a track record of promotions. Relocation and sponsorship are available; expect a hands-on, autonomous leadership role with a vibrant team culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Venue Management experience.
• Proven experience managing a large food and beverage‑focused venue.
• Strong experience working with all departments within the Head Office team.
• Understanding and ability to learn venue reporting and systems on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• P&L understanding and ability to deep dive into financials to analyze where there is an opportunity to grow your business.
• Ability to generate revenue-building ideas throughout all aspects of the business.
• Presence on the floor during peak service periods, including late nights and weekends.
• Write and control an effective roster
• Stocktake and investigate stock loss
• Market awareness and trend analysis relevant to food and beverage in the area.
• Ability to implement and execute promotions throughout the business successfully.
• RLMV, Approved Managers License, Gaming Nominee & CLO are a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead the venue team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Manage floor presence during peak service periods, including late nights and weekends.
• Collaborate with Head Office departments to align on reporting and promotions.
• Develop and implement revenue-building promotions and strategies.
• Oversee rostering, stock control, and inventory management.
• Monitor P&L and identify opportunities to grow the business.
