Job summary

AVC Operations Pty Limited – Surfers Paradise QLD is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead Retros on the Gold Coast, driving performance and shaping a guest-focused culture in a high-volume late-night venue.

You will own operations, people, compliance and commercial results, while coaching a strong team and delivering events to boost trade, with a hands-on approach during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading busy, high-volume venues.
• Experience in late-night, entertainment, bars or high-volume hospitality.
• Commercially switched on and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of overall performance of the venue, from people and culture to operations and compliance.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing venue team.
• Be visible and hands-on during peak trading periods.
• Drive a fun, energetic, guest-focused culture and manage labour, rostering, and stock.
• Understand P&L and identify opportunities to grow the business.
• Deliver events and activations to drive trade while maintaining safety standards.

Retros is all about big nights, throwback anthems, packed dance floors and good times - and we're looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead the team and drive the venue forward.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume late-night environment, knows how to build a great team and understands how to turn memorable guest experiences into strong commercial results.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of the overall performance of Retros - from people and culture to operations, compliance and commercial results.

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing venue team
• Be visible and hands-on during key trading periods
• Drive a fun, energetic and guest-focused culture
• Own labour, rostering, stock management and venue performance
• Understand your P&L and identify opportunities to grow the business
• Deliver events, promotions and activations that drive trade
• Maintain strong standards across safety, licensing and compliance

About you

We're looking for a strong hospitality operator with proven experience leading busy, high-volume venues.

Experience in late-night, entertainment, bars or high-volume hospitality will be highly regarded.

You'll be commercially switched on, confident leading a team and comfortable being right in the middle of the action when the venue is at its busiest.

Most importantly, you'll bring energy, personality and a genuine love of hospitality.
