Job summary

Legends Global operates Afterpay Arena in Sydney and is seeking a qualified Venue Electrician to join the Operations team. You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, support live events, and ensure electrical systems meet high standards.

The role requires NSW Electrical Supervisor Certificate, BMCS experience, and the ability to supervise contractors while adhering to Australian electrical standards. Flexibility for after-hours work is expected.

Qualifications

• Holds NSW Electrical Supervisor Certificate.
• ACMA General Cabler Licence is desirable.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management is preferred.
• Sound understanding of Australian Electrical Standards and electrical compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the Arena.
• Test, repair and tag electrical equipment in accordance with legislation and Arena procedures.
• Maintain and monitor building services, plant and equipment, including the BMCS.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Conduct emergency lighting inspections and statutory testing.
• Support the electrical set-up and pack-down of concerts, sporting events and other live entertainment.

Job description

Afterpay Arena is seeking a qualified and motivated Venue Electrician to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the Assets Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the Arena's electrical infrastructure and supporting the successful delivery of world-class concerts, sporting events and live entertainment.

This hands-on position combines preventative and reactive maintenance with event support, ensuring the Arena's electrical systems, plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. You will work closely with contractors, touring production crews and internal teams to deliver safe, reliable and seamless event operations.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a current NSW Electrical Supervisor Certificate.
• Has experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management.
• Has a sound understanding of Australian Electrical Standards and electrical compliance requirements.
• Has experience with Building Management Control Systems (BMCS).
• Is confident working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Has experience supervising contractors and coordinating maintenance works.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Is proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Holds an ACMA General Cabler Licence (desirable).
• Has experience with telecommunications, air conditioning or refrigeration systems (desirable).

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Perform preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the Arena.
• Test, repair and tag electrical equipment in accordance with legislation and Arena procedures.
• Maintain and monitor building services, plant and equipment, including the Building Management Control System (BMCS).
• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Conduct emergency lighting inspections and statutory testing.
• Support the electrical set-up and pack-down of concerts, sporting events and other live entertainment.
• Set up, operate and maintain the Daktronics sports scoring system.
• Connect and disconnect event electrical services and assist touring electricians when required.
• Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, testing documentation and electrical drawings.
• Carry out post-event inspections and report any maintenance issues or damage.
• Assist with building maintenance projects and general facility upkeep.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

Availability

The live entertainment industry operates around the clock, so flexibility is essential. The successful applicant will be available to work a rotating roster, including:

• Weekdays
• Evenings
• Public holidays
