Job summary

BYD is seeking a full-time Vehicle Import & Export Specialist based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, to coordinate finished vehicle import and export operations in Australia and New Zealand. The role focuses on import operations with occasional exports, ATA temporary import/export, and vehicle transfers between Australia and New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Professional working proficiency in English is required; Chinese-language skills are advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
• Experience in automotive logistics, import/export operations, freight forwarding or customs brokerage is preferred, ideally with at least two years.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with customs and logistics systems such as ICS, GTS, TMS or CargoWise.

Responsibilities

• Import & Export Operations: Manage daily import operations for finished vehicles in Australia and New Zealand, including customs clearance and related documentation.
• Port & Biosecurity Management: Coordinate with customs brokers, port operators, and biosecurity providers to arrange inspections and releases.
• Internal & External Coordination: Work with partners and internal teams to resolve clearance or documentation issues promptly.
• Data Management & System Administration: Maintain import operation records and participate in system development initiatives.
• Cost Settlement & Cost Control: Verify and process import-related expenses and monitor costs to minimise expenses.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise clearance, logistics operations and processes.
