Job summary

YLZ Truck Bodies in Pakenham, VIC, is recruiting an experienced Vehicle Body Builder for a permanent, full-time role. You will construct vehicle sections, select and sew fabrics, and modify assembly lines to meet special requirements.

• Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations is required.
• Bus, Truck and Trailer or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Body Builder.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings to a high standard.
• Safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Construct vehicle sections in several materials using shaping machines and cutting and welding equipment
• Select, cut and sew pieces of fabric, vinyl and leather using heavy-duty sewing machines
• Modify assembly line vehicles to special requirements
• Bolt, screw, rivet and weld vehicle sections together
• Preparing new vehicle trim work
• Instal internal trim in vehicles such as lining, floor coverings and armrests
• Attach door trims, rubber seals, locks and handles
