Job summary

Christway College – Wyndham Vale Campus in Melbourne’s western corridor seeks an experienced VCE English Teacher for a full-time, ongoing appointment commencing January 2027. You will help establish the Year 12 English program, align delivery with VCAA requirements and lead assessment preparation.

The role emphasizes collaborative leadership, Christian values and contribution to the College’s growth as it welcomes its first Year 12 cohort, with a competitive VGSA-aligned salary and relocation

Qualifications

Teaching qualifications and current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or eligibility.
Experience teaching VCE English Unit 1-4, particularly Units 3–4, or equivalent senior secondary English experience.
Strong understanding of senior English curriculum planning, assessment and examination preparation.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality VCE English Unit 1-4 programs, particularly Units 3–4, aligned with VCAA requirements.
Student Achievement and Wellbeing: Prepare students for VCE assessments and examinations, provide meaningful feedback and support academic progress and wellbeing.
Communication: Build positive relationships with students and families, maintaining clear communication about learning expectations and student development.
Collaboration: Work closely with teaching colleagues and leadership to establish consistent curriculum, assessment and teaching practices across senior English.
Curriculum Leadership: Contribute to the establishment and ongoing development of Christway College's VCE English program as the school welcomes its first Year 12 cohort.
