Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland, Victoria, invites applications for a Speciality Surgical Registrar (Vascular). The role focuses on vascular surgery with coverage of thoracics, urology and ENT, in collaboration with consultants to deliver high‑quality patient care.

You will participate in ward rounds, on‑call duties, operating lists and education of interns and HMOs, while contributing to audits and quality improvement. LRH offers a supportive culture and strong staff wellbeing programs.

Qualifications

• MBBS (or equivalent) and eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a busy surgical environment with on-call duties.
• Commitment to teaching, professional development and quality improvement.
• Excellent organisational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day management of patients within the General Surgery service, including ward rounds and reviews.
• Handle surgical referrals, emergencies and on-call responsibilities.
• Participate in operating theatre lists and assist in delivering services.
• Support interns, HMOs and medical students with education and guidance.
• Contribute to surgical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews and imaging rounds.
