Job summary

Orica invites an experienced UX/UI Design Manager to lead the Digital Solutions team. You will own the design system, set standards, and partner with product, technology, and business to deliver intuitive, scalable digital products.

You\'ll coach designers, oversee research, and promote usability across complex platforms, ensuring outcomes align with strategic goals and customer needs. This role requires a decade of UX/UI leadership, a strong design portfolio, and a collaborative, agile mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, Digital Design or related field; leadership or qualifications desirable.
• 10+ years of UX/UI or digital product design experience with leadership.
• Track record delivering digital solutions across complex products or platforms.
• Experience with product and engineering in an agile delivery environment.
• Experience managing people with coaching and development planning.
• Strong knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, usability and research.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the UX/UI design team with clear expectations and development opportunities.
• Build and maintain a modern Design System guiding patterns and components across products.
• Define and improve the UX/UI operating model, standards, tools and governance.
• Right-size design process to each product context with shared principles.
• Coordinate design capacity across multiple products, aligning with agile delivery.
• Communicate design impact and trade-offs to stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Promote user research and translate insights into product decisions and improvements.
• Improve user workflows to be smoother and more fit-for-purpose.
• Use feedback and outcomes to enhance the design practice and customer experience.
