Job summary

Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) invites applications for a Specialist Nurse Practitioner to join the Urology service at Lyell McEwin Hospital. This full-time role allows the successful candidate to operate to the full scope of their practice, with preference for those who have progressed Masters components of the Nurse Practitioner course.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner with an endorsed scope relevant to this role.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in urology or a closely related specialty.
• Proven ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team in a complex public health environment.
• Strong skills in clinical assessment, diagnostics, and advanced care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, autonomous clinical care to diverse patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform scheduled diagnostic and surveillance cystoscopy lists and follow-up on pathology/cytology.
• Lead clinical quality initiatives and contribute to service improvement in the urology unit.
• Provide expert urology advice to nursing staff, GPs, patients and families to facilitate hospital avoidance where possible.
• Prescribe medications and initiate referrals within endorsed scope of practice.
• Mentor and support nursing staff to build team capability and advance urology nursing practice standards.
