Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking dedicated Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice Casualty to join Balmain Hospital. The role provides high-quality urgent care and specialist diagnostic services to inpatients and ambulatory attendees.

Successful applicants will be current medical practitioners registered or eligible with AHPRA, and Fellowship with FACEM or equivalent. The position includes teaching, research, quality improvement and a seven-day roster with on-call commitments.

Qualifications

• Current registered medical practitioner or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship with Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Willingness to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level urgent care and services in General Practice Casualty at Balmain Hospital.
• Supervise junior medical officers and collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and clerical staff.
• Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement activities.
• Support seven-day clinical roster including evenings, weekends and on-call commitments.
