Job summary

McArthur is partnering with a major local government organisation in Western Sydney to recruit an experienced Tree Management Officer for a permanent, full-time opportunity. You will undertake inspections and assessments of public tree assets and provide informed recommendations regarding tree health, condition, risk and maintenance requirements.

This position has genuine responsibility for Council's tree assets rather than purely hands-on work, with scope across asset management, urban forest

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Arboriculture or a closely related field.
• Experience assessing tree health, condition and risk.
• Sound knowledge of arboricultural practices and urban tree management.
• Current Class C driver's licence and related permits.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Council-owned trees and identify maintenance requirements.
• Assess tree health, condition and potential hazards.
• Provide technical advice to residents, staff and stakeholders.
• Assist with administration of Tree Preservation Order applications.
• Investigate incidents involving street, park and Council trees.
• Support street tree planting and replacement programs.
• Program and monitor arboriculture and tree-related works.
• Prepare recommendations, correspondence and inspection records.
• Liaise with contractors and monitor works to standards.
• Undertake risk assessments and recommend corrective action.
• Communicate policies and tree-management requirements clearly.
