Zurich Insurance Group in Australia is launching the General Insurance Underwriting Apprenticeship Program for 2026. You’ll be guided by experienced Assistant Underwriters, learn risk assessment, and support broker partners while building confidence and knowledge to grow in underwriting.

You’ll rotate through the underwriting team, gain practical skills, and start your trainee underwriter journey with a solid foundation for ongoing growth.

Qualifications

• Recent completion of HSC or equivalent.
• Keen interest in starting a career in underwriting and finance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support Assistant Underwriters and learn fundamentals of Underwriting Services.
• Rotate across the wider underwriting team to gain hands-on exposure to General Insurance lines.
• Respond to customer inquiries and help maintain day-to-day underwriting operations.

We’re excited to launch our General Insurance Underwriting Apprenticeship Program for 2026!

You’ll be supported from day one by a team of experienced Assistant Underwriters who will coach you through the fundamentals of Underwriting Services and help you build the confidence and knowledge to support our broker partners - responding to customer enquiries and keeping day-to-day underwriting operations running smoothly.

You’ll also rotate across the wider underwriting team, gaining hands-on exposure to the different lines of General Insurance Zurich offers. Along the way, you’ll develop practical skills, learn how we assess risk and make decisions, and begin your journey as a trainee underwriter with a strong foundation for growth.
