Endurance Mining is seeking an experienced Underground Ventilation Engineer for the Abra Mine Site, WA. You will oversee all ventilation systems, ensuring safety and compliance as Underground Ventilation Officer under WA Mines regulations.

Requires 2+ years underground experience, a mining-related degree, and a valid Ventilation Officer exam. FIFO 7/7 from Perth or DIDO from Meekatharra are offered with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary mining qualification and valid Underground Ventilation Officer status.
• Experience with WA mining legislation and WHS requirements.
• Underground ventilation experience with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and optimise underground ventilation systems (fans, regulators, doors, ducting).
• Conduct ventilation surveys, airflow measurements, gas monitoring and inspections.
• Maintain ventilation plans and simulations compliant with WA mining law.
• Provide technical advice on ventilation for planned works.
• Identify hazards and implement controls respecting exposure limits.
• Support emergency preparedness and lead ventilation safety training.

The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Underground Ventilation Engineer to join our Mining team at Abra Mine Site. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play a critical role in the safety and wellbeing of our underground
workforce, overseeing all ventilation systems and holding the statutory position of Underground Ventilation Officer under the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and optimise underground ventilation systems, including fans, regulators, doors, stoppings and ducting
• Conduct routine ventilation surveys, airflow measurements, gas monitoring and environmental inspections
• Maintain and update ventilation plans, models and airflow simulations, and ensure compliance with WA mining legislation
• Provide technical advice to mining and engineering teams on ventilation requirements for planned works
• Identify ventilation-related hazards, implement appropriate controls, and verify compliance with exposure limits
• Support emergency preparedness, including fire response and smoke management strategies
• Deliver ventilation awareness training to operational personnel and lead continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in a mining-related discipline
• Passed Underground Legislation Ventilation Officer Exam
• Completed WHS Risk Management Units
• Minimum 2 years' underground experience, including 6+ months working with a ventilation officer (or previous appointment as Underground Ventilation Officer)
• Current WA 'C' Class driver's licence
