Job summary

Endurance Mining seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to join the underground mining team at Abra Mine, reporting to the Technical Services Manager. You will apply rock mechanics and geotechnical knowledge to support safe expansion of underground infrastructure and operations.

You will conduct data collection, ground stability reviews and audits, working with experienced professionals to maintain high safety standards and drive project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Science with Geotechnical specialization.
• 2+ years' relevant industry experience.
• Familiarity with WA Mining Act, Regulations and WHS Act.
• Deswik, Dips and Unwedge knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical data collection, program planning and ground stability design review.
• Help ensure geotechnical design requirements are addressed at extraction plan, stope note and development design stages.
• Conduct regular underground inspections, checking ground support standards and reporting hazards.
• Schedule ground support audits and collect and interpret geotechnical data from mapping, core logging and site inspections.
• Monitor QAQC systems and assist with paste strength and cement content recommendations.

Endurance's Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mining team at Abra Mine Site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will apply your rock mechanics and geotechnical knowledge to support the safe, day-to-day expansion of our underground mine infrastructure and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical data collection, program planning and ground stability design review
• Help ensure geotechnical design requirements are addressed at extraction plan, stope note and development design stages
• Conduct regular underground inspections, checking ground support standards and reporting hazards
• Schedule ground support audits and collect and interpret geotechnical data from mapping, core logging and site inspections
• Monitor QAQC systems and assist with paste strength and cement content recommendations

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years' hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within an underground mining environment
• Working knowledge of the WA Mining Act, Regulations and WHS Act
• Familiarity with mining software such as Deswik, Dips and Unwedge is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to develop your skills in a growing team

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering or Science with a Geotechnical specialisation
• Current 'C' Class Western Australian driver's licence
• 2+ years' relevant industry experience
