Job summary

Rural Fibre Co is seeking an experienced Service Locator to support our Gippsland network projects. You will identify, locate, and protect underground utilities to ensure safe excavation and construction activities.

The role is based at our Pakenham area facility with travel throughout Gippsland using company vehicles. Typical hours 7am–4pm, Monday to Friday, with rare weekend shifts for outages; salary is around AU$90,000 per year plus super.

Qualifications

• White Card or Construction Induction Card required.
• RIICCM202EIdentify, Locate and Protect Underground Services certification or willingness to obtain.
• Current and valid Driver’s Licence (HR highly desirable).
• Experience locating underground services in civil or subdivision environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate, mark and record underground services per project requirements.
• Use locating equipment including GPR, EML, transmitters and hand tools.
• Conduct non-destructive vacuum excavation (NDD) to expose assets.
• Read BYDA plans and construction drawings; validate assets.
• Prepare locating reports and project documentation; communicate findings to site personnel.
• Maintain compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Support construction teams with accurate locating information to prevent strikes.
