Job summary

Orica Limited in Perth, Western Australia, is seeking an Underground Specialist – Digital Solutions to lead commercialization and implementation of digital solutions for underground mining, including BlastIQ Underground, with substantial travel across the AusPac region.

Based in our Perth office, you will work with product, engineering, marketing and regional teams to drive customer adoption, deliver demonstrations, and manage early adopter programs while ensuring safety and compliance.

In this Underground Specialist – Digital Solutions role, you will lead the commercialisation and implementation of innovative digital solutions that enhance underground mining operations. We're seeking a customer-focused professional with experience in underground mining, mining technology, and stakeholder engagement who can influence teams, deliver exceptional customer outcomes, and drive operational excellence. While based in our Perth office, you'll spend much of your time supporting customer sites across the region on an 8-days-on, 6-days-off roster.

What you will be doing

The Underground Specialist – Digital Solutions plays a key role in promoting and delivering Orica’s Blast Design suite of technologies across the mining industry. Acting as a trusted technical expert and representative of Orica at customer sites, the successful candidate will champion safety, ensure compliance with Orica and customer standards, and support the deployment of software and hardware solutions. The role is also responsible for developing scalable systems, processes, and procedures to support the rollout of underground blasting and digital technologies across the AusPac region.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and regional Digital Specialist teams, this position will drive customer adoption of underground mining technologies through demonstrations, implementation projects, ongoing support, and stakeholder engagement. The role also includes managing early adopter programs, providing customer support and product stewardship, contributing to product roadmaps and emerging technology initiatives, and representing Orica at industry conferences, technology showcases, and regional marketing events.

What you will bring

• Underground Mining experience, understanding the various processes and workflows within the underground mining environment
• Practical underground drill and blast experience
• Possesses a strong technology competency with the ability to manage data, modern software and hardware applications
• Technical writing and presentation skills
• Office and field-based training and mentoring experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to routinely travel to remote locations, working an 8-day on, 6-day off fly-in-fly-out roster
• Be willing on occasion to work extended days to suit project requirements, with any additional days covered by days in lieu
