Job summary

MINERAL RESOURCES LIMITED is seeking an Underground Safety Specialist to lead safety initiatives at the Mount Marion underground mine, supporting restart and ramp-up toward steady-state production. The role operates on a 4D3X roster, with travel from Perth, reporting to the Manager Safety and collaborating with operations, contractors and corporate technical teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma minimum requirement in OH&S.
• Cert 3 Mines Rescue required.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence.
• 5+ years in underground mining.
• Experience with safety management systems.
• Experience applying safety in underground mining.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills.
• Ability to think creatively and laterally.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist underground safety leadership during restart and ramp-up.
• Develop and implement safety management systems aligned with readiness.
• Collaborate with operations, contractors and stakeholders to manage risk.
• Facilitate risk management processes, inspections, audits and verifications.
• Monitor compliance with WA mining legislation and site standards.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop safe work procedures, training programs and standards.
• Maintain project risk registers and safety documentation.
• Contribute to underground emergency preparedness and response.
