Job summary

Marble Group is seeking an experienced underground electrical specialist for a leading hard rock mining operation in North Queensland. You will join a tight crew, perform a broad range of electrical tasks, and contribute to safe, reliable mine maintenance.

Work includes 1000V reticulation, pump/fan maintenance, HV switching, and installation work underground. An 8:6/7:7 roster with FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville offers stability and career growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrical trade with industrial/mining experience preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Underground electrical work including 1000V reticulation and terminations.
• Servicing production drill rigs and handling breakdowns.
• Maintain/install pumps, fans, vents, and related equipment.
• Relocate/install jumbo boxes and pump starters; leaky feeder installs.
• Support AutoMine networking and perform testing, tagging, and audits.

Job description

Join a globally recognised underground mining principal with a strong safety-first culture and a genuine track record of developing long-term careers. This role puts you at a well-established, high-producing underground hard rock mine in North QLD with an estimated mine life of 20+ years. You'll work within a close-knit crew of around 8 electricians, get hands-on with a modern fleet of Sandvik, Normet and Komatsu equipment, and have genuine potential to move onto the principal's own books as roles become available.

About the Role

You'll be working 100% underground, covering a broad scope of electrical work including:

• 1000V reticulation and terminations
• Production drill rig servicing and breakdowns
• Maintenance and installation of pumps, fans and vents
• Relocation and installation of jumbo boxes and pump starters
• Leaky feeder communication system installs and maintenance
• AutoMine installs and networking
• Testing, tagging, statutory checks and audits

For those ticketed, there's also scope for 11kV reticulation, substation maintenance and HV switching work.

About You

• Current driver's licence (manual experience required for site LVs)
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Ability to fault-find and problem-solve autonomously
• Mining or industrial experience
• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
