Job summary

NES Fircroft seeks an experienced Mine Planning Engineer for an underground hard rock operation in Australia. The role focuses on developing and optimising mine plans, ensuring designs meet safety, efficiency, and value targets.

You will work with Geology and Geotechnical teams to align plans with ground conditions and production goals. The position involves delivering practical designs, monitoring performance, and adjusting sequences to maximise recovery and value.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified Mining Engineer required (as stated).
Experience in underground hard rock mining, especially drill-and-blast.
Strong mine planning experience focused on safety and efficiency.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Deswik experience is advantageous.
Able to engage with site stakeholders across discipline lines.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain underground mine designs, including stope shapes and drill-and-blast plans.
Collaborate with Geology and Geotechnical teams to ensure designs are practical and aligned with ground conditions.
Monitor mining performance and adjust sequences to maximise recovery, productivity and value.
Analyse historical stope performance to improve future mine designs and planning outcomes.
Identify, manage and communicate planning risks while driving continuous improvement.
