Job summary

Newmont Tanami is seeking a Jumbo Operator to perform underground development drilling and ground support installation at the Northern Territory mine, adhering to design specifications and safety standards. You will conduct pre-start checks, operate jumbo drill rigs, and contribute to reliable production by maintaining schedules, safety compliance and teamwork in a remote fly-in, fly-out environment.

This permanent role offers a 7 days on, 7 nights on a 14 days off roster with modern camp

Qualifications

• Strong underground mining experience.
• Experience operating jumbo drill rigs.
• Commitment to safety and procedural compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct underground drilling activities for development blasting, ground support in accordance with mine plans and operational requirements.
• Perform pre-start inspections, equipment checks and workplace safety assessments to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Operate and maintain jumbo drilling equipment, accurately drilling to design specifications, profiles and ground conditions.
• Complete operational documentation, participate in safety programs and actively contribute to continuous improvement through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing.
