Job summary

Macmahon Underground is expanding on Australia's East Coast and seeks experienced Jumbo Operators to join our team. You will operate Sandvik jumbo drill rigs on underground development projects and read designs and memos to guide work.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and delivering productive results across multiple site locations with family‑friendly rosters. Minimum 2 years’ experience, strong safety focus, and a positive culture are essential; DG Card and First Aid are highly desired.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating jumbo drill rigs.
• Strong safety focus and the ability to speak up.
• Team mindset and reliable work ethic.
• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture.
• Dangerous Goods Security Card (highly desired).
• First Aid Certificate (highly desired)

Responsibilities

• Operate Sandvik jumbo drill rig in a safe and efficient manner.
• Read and understand development designs and memos to guide work activities.
• Carry out underground development activities, including boring and installation of ground support.
• Install ground support such as split sets, resin bolts and mesh.
• Contribute to all stages of the mining cycle, maintaining productivity and minimising downtime.
• Provide clear and effective communication.
• Support a people‑first culture and live our Winning Values.
• Help teammates and foster a strong crew culture.
