Job summary

Gold Fields offers a frontline Jumbo Operator role at our underground development teams, delivering safe, accurate drilling while supporting production targets. You’ll operate twin-boom jumbo rigs, follow drill plans, and maintain strong safety standards in a demanding underground environment.

Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, you’ll work FIFO from Perth on a 8/6 and 7/7 roster, collaborating with engineers, geologists and service crews.

Qualifications

• Proven underground mining experience operating jumbo drill rigs (Sandvik).
• Knowledge of charging, firing, bogging and trucking development headings.
• Ability to read drill plans and mine designs; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Operate twin-boom jumbo drills for underground development.
• Ensure drilling aligns with design and ground support requirements.
• Provide guidance to underground operations such as Charge-up Crews, Bogger Operators and Service Crews.
• Communicate with engineers and survey teams to drill to plan.
• Perform pre-starts, basic maintenance and maintain housekeeping in headings.
