Job summary

PYBAR Mining Services Pty seeks an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSET) Coordinator for its Rosebery Division in Tasmania, on an 8:6 roster. The role focuses on implementing HSET initiatives at site level, promoting risk awareness, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous on-site improvement.

Ideal candidate has at least 2 years in HSET coordination, plus 4 years in underground hard rock mining, with WHS/OHS knowledge across Australian jurisdictions and experience with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a HSET coordinator or similar position.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in safety, health, or environmental management.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Underground Hardrock mining.
• Comprehensive understanding of WHS/OH&S regulations across Australian jurisdictions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.
• Proven experience completing incident investigations, preferably using ICAM methodology.
• Experience using INX or similar safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordination and implementation of Health, Safety, Environment and Training activities at site level.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve site health and safety performance and contribute to continuous improvement planning.
• Provide day to day support, guidance, and oversight on HSET practices to ensure compliance with PYBAR’s systems and legislative requirements.
• Help deliver PYBAR’s HSET capabilities on site, maintaining strong communication with the client and workforce.
• Work closely with site supervisors and operational leaders to ensure health and safety systems are effectively followed and embedded in daily operations.
• Promote positive safety behaviours and help build a culture of accountability, ownership and safety first thinking across the site.
• Use digital tools (e.g. INX) to record and monitor safety data, identify trends, and support proactive safety decisions.
