Job summary

Engineering Trades Australia is seeking experienced Underground Electricians for ongoing work at a major underground mining operation in North-West Queensland.

You will join the underground maintenance team to maintain and repair a range of underground mining equipment and electrical infrastructure, with a 7:7 roster and a flat $78/hr rate. FIFO flights from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville are provided along with camp accommodation and meals. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Current QLD Electrical Licence
• Previous underground mining experience
• Current CPR & LVR
• Construction White Card
• Working at Heights & Confined Space – within 2 years
• National Police clearance <12 months old or ability to obtain ASAP
• Current Driver's Licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding, diagnostics and breakdown response
• Maintenance and repairs on Sandvik underground drills, cable bolters and other mobile mining equipment
• Maintenance of Normet shotcreters, pumps, ventilation systems and underground services
• HV/LV isolation, testing and electrical fault-finding
• Installation of underground electrical infrastructure
• Cable installation, terminations and equipment connections
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Working closely with the mining and maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability

Full Job Description

Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking experienced Underground Electricians for ongoing work at a major underground mining operation in North-West Queensland.

The operation is an underground hard-rock mine with extensive mobile mining equipment, underground electrical infrastructure and surface processing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mining electrician looking for a consistent 7:7 roster, competitive flat rate and long-term work.

About the Role

Working as part of the underground maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of underground mining equipment and electrical infrastructure.

Your duties may include:

• Fault-finding, diagnostics and breakdown response
