Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an Underground Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on a FIFO eight-on/ six-off roster. You will maintain underground pumping, ventilation and fixed plant assets to uphold safety and availability.

Working rights in Australia are required; a recognised trade certificate, HW Licences, and confided space/height certificates are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate.
• Experience in maintenance of pumping and ventilation systems, compressors, fixed plant assets.
• Ability to work as part of a Multi-skilled Workforce.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out maintenance tasks in the underground area as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Maintain UG and in pit dewatering pumping systems, Compressors, Primary ventilation, refuge chambers and fixed plant assets underground and in the mining areas.
• Availability to work a callout roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdowns.

We are seeking an Underground Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Supervisor: UG Mechanical Maintenance this role is a fulltime permanent FIFO position on a 8/6 roster. We operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

Accountabilities

Your new role will include;

• Carrying out maintenance tasks in the underground area as directed by Maintenance Supervisors,
• Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance and ensures that the Values are adhered to at all times.
• Maintaining UG and in pit dewatering pumping systems, Compressors, Primary ventilation, refuge chambers and fixed plant assets underground and in the mining areas.
• Availability to work a callout roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdowns.

To be considered, we would like to see you have:

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
• Experience in the maintenance of pumping and ventilation systems, compressors, fixed plant assets preferably within an underground mining environment
• The ability to work as part of a Multi-skilled Workforce
• Computer literacy?
• High Risk Work Licence CN, DG, RB, WP, LF - desirable
• Current Confined space entry & working at heights certificate
• Current C Class Driver’s License
• Existing working rights in Australia (mandatory)
• Strong safety mindset with a proven track record of adhering to safety procedures, identifying risks, and contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.
