Job summary

Anglo American Australia’s Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services team on a permanent basis. You will coordinate mine planning inputs, support ventilation and gas management, and drive safety and efficiency across underground coal operations.

You will deliver best practice engineering services, monitor performance, manage projects and interact with operations to optimise productivity while maintaining compliance and Zero Harm standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Mining Engineer (or equivalent).
• Detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
• Working knowledge of mining legislation and its application.
• High level of planning and problem-solving ability.
• Well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
• Previous experience within underground mining operations (preferably coal).
• Experience with mine planning tools such as XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner, Deswik.

Responsibilities

• Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine, ensuring safety systems and legislation compliance.
• Plan and coordinate mine planning (weekly, short-range, Monthly, 5 yearly and business planning) and production review meetings.
• Monitor, analyse and report mine performance and manage projects.
• Contribute to ventilation, gas management, mine planning and technical projects.
• Support designated process coordinators and interact with Operations.
• Identify productivity and process improvements in safety, production, cost and efficiency.
• Lead the permit to mine process to ensure technical aspects support production continuity.
• Apply Safety & Health principles in all site interactions and take ownership for safety on site.
