Job summary

MCA Engineering is seeking an experienced Underground Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter to join our NSW operations. You will work with underground crews to install paste line pipework and related infrastructure, performing pipe fit-up, welding, and inspection tasks in line with project requirements.

The role requires relevant trade qualifications, underground experience, ability to read drawings, a strong safety record, and willingness to work FIFO on a 2:2 roster with day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Underground boilermaker or mechanical fitter qualifications are required.
• Experience underground is essential.
• Ability to interpret drawings and installation specifications.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team.
• FIFO 2:2 roster with day/night shifts availability.
• Licences for high-risk work are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Install paste line pipework and related infrastructure.
• Complete pipe fit-up, flange connections and mechanical works.
• Undertake fabrication and welding tasks as required.
• Install pipe supports and steelwork.
• Interpret drawings and installation specs.
• Assist with lifting, positioning and handling pipes/equipment.
• Perform inspections and quality checks per project.
• Follow site safety procedures and maintain quality workmanship.

The Roles

You’ll work alongside underground construction crews to install paste line pipework and associated infrastructure.

Depending on your trade and experience, responsibilities may include:

• Installing, aligning and securing underground paste line pipework
• Completing pipe fit-up, flange connections and associated mechanical works
• Undertaking fabrication and welding tasks as required
• Installing pipe supports, brackets and associated steelwork
• Interpreting drawings and installation specifications
• Assisting with lifting, positioning and handling pipes and equipment
• Completing inspections and quality checks in line with project requirements
• Following site safety procedures and maintaining quality workmanship

About You

• Relevant Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications
• Previous underground experience is essential
• Experience with pipe installations, ideally on paste line or similar mining projects
• Ability to interpret drawings and work to installation specifications
• Strong safety focus and ability to work effectively within a team
• Available for FIFO work on a 2:2 roster, including day and night shifts
• High-risk work licences, including rigging, non-slewing mobile crane and forklift, will be highly regarded
