Job summary

29Metals is seeking a Backfill Engineer to join the Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. You will report to the Backfill Superintendent and work on an 8:6 roster, focusing on developing and managing backfill strategies that ensure safe production and long-term mine stability.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with backfilling, CHF pastefill, or rockfill operations.
• Proficiency with mining software packages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage backfill strategies for safe mining and tailings management.
• Design fill plans based on mining cycles and reticulation/wall plans for safe pours.
• Collaborate with plant operators for high-quality material production and reporting.
• Inspect and oversee placement of paste, CHF, and rockfill.
• Maintain QA/QC programs and ensure compliance with Fill Management Plans and risk assessments.
• Contribute to budget and schedule planning.
