RUSSELL MINERAL EQUIPMENT (RME) invites applications for an Undergraduate Electrical Engineer or Electrical Draftsperson to join its Asset Support Engineering team at the Toowoomba facility.

You will develop detailed electrical schematics and assembly drawings to sustain and upgrade in-service equipment, assisted by experienced engineers and tradespeople, and help maintain BOM, RSP and ASP data while pursuing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and drawing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
• Familiarity with electrical hardware such as motors, switchgear and logic control.
• A demonstrated commitment to quality engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers and tradespeople.
• The ability to work effectively within a team-based environment.
• Current undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering, or relevant trade experience in a related industry.
• Experience working with mining or heavy industrial equipment (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical schematics and assembly drawings to support sustainment and upgrades of in-service equipment.
• Help maintain BOM, RSP and ASP data with guidance from the engineering team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across Asset Support and the broader Engineering team.
• Work with engineers and tradespeople to ensure accurate documentation and drawings.

What is the role?

There is an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Electrical Engineer / Electrical Draftsperson to join RME's Asset Support Engineering team, based at our Hursley Road facility in Toowoomba.

This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineering undergraduate or someone with electrical drafting experience who is looking to develop their practical engineering skills in a hands-on environment.

Working alongside experienced engineers and tradespeople, you will assist with producing detailed electrical schematics, assembly and manufacturing drawings that support the sustainment and upgrade of RME's in-service equipment. You will be involved in electrical drafting from preliminary designs through to final drawings, with guidance and support from the engineering team.

You will also support the accuracy and integrity of engineering information, including bills of materials (BOM), Recommended Spare Parts (RSP) and Asset Support Platform (ASP) data, while contributing to continuous improvement across Asset Support and the broader Engineering team.
