Job summary

ProCore Engineering, a Mackay-based engineering consultancy, is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering student to join our team on mining and heavy industry projects. You will work with an RPEQ Mechanical Engineer and gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.

You will contribute to mechanical design, 3D CAD modelling, calculations and reporting while developing professional skills in a supportive mentoring environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently studying Mechanical Engineering with strong academic record.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Job description

The role will support a range of engineering projects across mining and heavy industry. You will work closely with an RPEQ Mechanical Engineer and will have the opportunity to receive ongoing mentoring, exposure to engineering decision-making, and practical experience across the full engineering project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

Mechanical design and drafting

3D CAD modelling - Inventor and AutoCad

Engineering calculations and technical analysis

Technical report preparation

Asset integrity and compliance assessments

Provide assistance with statutory engineering projects

Engineering documentation and drawing packages

General project engineering and project management support

About you

Currently studying Mechanical Engineering

Strong attention to detail

Eager to learn and develop professionally

Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving ability

Good written and verbal communication skills

Interest in mining, materials handling or heavy industry

Experience with Inventor or other CAD software is advantageous but not essential
