Job summary

The AFL is seeking an Umpire Analysis Manager based in Melbourne to lead the development and delivery of the umpiring analysis program, providing timely insights to support coaching, development and performance evaluation.

You will manage the analysis framework, review center operations on match days, recruit and train analysts, and work with coaches and technology systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or contributing to performance analysis and coaching systems.
• Strong ability to interpret performance data and produce actionable insights.
• Experience with AI and vision analysis technology in sport is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and continuous improvement of the umpire analysis framework.
• Manage the umpire review function at the AFL Review Centre on match days.
• Recruit, train, rostering and coordinating match-day callers and analysts.
• Govern data collection, validation and QA for umpiring performance.
• Produce timely reports and rankings to support coaching and development.
• Collaborate with Umpiring coaches to provide feedback.
• Respond to club inquiries with informed umpiring advice.
• Work with stakeholders on technology systems used by Umpiring Dept.
