Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our project delivery team for Western Harbour Tunnel - Stage 2, in Sydney. The role focuses on safety, quality, and timely delivery of a major harbour crossing project with excavation and underground works.

Key responsibilities include managing documentation, permits, cost reporting, procurement support, and coordinating with project teams to meet schedule targets while upholding safety and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in excavation or underground construction projects.
• Experience working on major Sydney road / tunnel infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and quality management systems.
• Ability to manage costs, productivity measures, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills with clients, supervisors, and project teams.
• Commitment to workplace health, safety, and sustainability principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage safety, construction, and quality documentation (SWMS, ITPs, procedures, permits).
• Administer contract works ensuring compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Manage permits, approvals, and ensure daily site activities align with design and specifications.
• Support planning, execution, and handover of project deliverables within time, cost, and quality targets.
• Assist with procurement, purchase orders, and material traceability.
• Track costs, monitor productivity, and prepare accurate daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Contribute to look-ahead planning, scheduling, and coordination with supervisors and project teams.
• Undertake audits, maintain registers, and ensure Quality Management System compliance.
• Record and report daily progress, delays, variations, and subcontractor activities.
• Participate in inductions, pre-start meetings, and promote company policies and code of conduct.
