Job summary

St Joseph's Parish School, Weipa, is seeking a proactive Tuckshop Convenor to lead the daily operations of a busy school tuckshop. You will plan menus, manage purchasing, rostering and food safety, delivering high‑quality service to students and staff.

The role involves close collaboration with the Principal and contributing to a positive school wellbeing environment. Prior experience in food service and leadership is beneficial; Blue Card and Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness

Qualifications

• Teamwork, effective communication and health and safety knowledge required.
• Mandatory Blue Card and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred or willing to obtain.
• Ability to manage and lead staff and volunteers professionally.
• Excellent organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm expected.
• Uphold staff Code of Conduct and Catholic Education ethos.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily tuckshop operations and menu planning.
• Order goods from suppliers and manage stock purchasing.
• Roster staff and volunteers; ensure training and inductions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and equipment maintenance.
• Promote tuckshop on the school Facebook page.
• Report to the Principal and participate in regular tuckshop discussions.
