Job summary

Essential

• Experience with at least one backend programming language such as C++, Java, Python or C#
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including debugging, testing, version control and software development lifecycle practices
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and well-documented code
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

Desirable

• Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning or Generative AI
• For AI/ML-focused positions, experience developing, training, evaluating or deploying machine learning or AI models using Python or other relevant technologies
• Understanding of relevant AI/ML concepts, algorithms and data processing techniques
• Familiarity with frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face or similar
• Experience with MLOps, model deployment, ML pipelines or productionising machine learning models
• Experience working with data engineering, data pipelines, APIs or large datasets
• Familiarity with Windows or Linux native development
• Experience working in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira, Confluence or Git
• Experience with cloud platforms, containers or DevOps technologies
• Knowledge or experience applying AI/ML to Defence, Intelligence, Cyber Security, Signals Intelligence or National Security environments will be highly regarded
