About the Team

You’ll join a team where people work with integrity, inclusion, innovation, agility, collaboration and commitment. In practice, that means sharing ownership, solving complex problems together and staying connected to the customer context, the purpose behind the work and how each role contributes to meaningful outcomes.

The Mission Software Solutions business delivers customised and off-the-shelf software solutions to Defence, Intelligence and other Government sectors. The business also builds capabilities for a wide range of traditional and non-traditional environments, with a strong focus on supporting highly secure, intelligence-led mission outcomes and advancing the technological modernisation of complex Government enterprises.

The Opportunity

Our MSS team is seeking experienced Technical Program Managers to support the growth of our Defence & Intelligence business across Australia, with opportunities available in both Melbourne and Canberra.

As we position for a number of significant Defence & Intelligence programs, we are building a pipeline of program leaders who can bring together people, technology and mission outcomes to deliver complex capabilities across secure Defence and Intelligence environments that support Australia’s national security objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of complex Defence & Intelligence programs spanning software, cloud, cyber, ICT, data and mission-focused technologies, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, securely and effectively.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software development, infrastructure, cyber security, testing and operational stakeholders, aligning delivery activities to customer priorities and mission needs.
  • Partner closely with Defence, Intelligence & National Security customers, program executives and technical leaders to manage program planning, governance, risk, dependencies and performance across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Shape the successful execution of emerging and established Defence & Intelligence programs, helping define delivery strategies, build high-performing teams and achieve long-term customer outcomes.

We are particularly interested in hearing from program leaders with experience in one or more of the following domains:

  • Defence & Intelligence software systems and mission applications
  • Intelligence, ISR and targeting systems
  • Geospatial technologies, remote sensing and data exploitation
  • Enterprise ICT, cloud, infrastructure and network environments
  • Cyber security, cyber operations and cyber engineering capabilities

About You

We are looking for people who combine program leadership capability, stakeholder engagement experience and delivery expertise with a passion for achieving outcomes that matter in complex Defence and national security environments.

Essential

  • You've successfully led complex technical programs or large-scale projects, balancing customer expectations, delivery objectives, risk management and operational outcomes.
  • You're comfortable working across diverse technical disciplines, bringing together engineers, architects, developers and delivery teams to achieve shared goals.
  • You know how to build trusted relationships with customers, senior stakeholders and partners, navigating complexity while maintaining focus on mission success.
  • You bring experience delivering technology-enabled outcomes in one or more areas such as Defence & Intelligence systems, mission software, cyber security, cloud, ICT, data or related domains.
  • You can establish effective governance, planning and reporting practices, ensuring programs remain aligned to strategic priorities, delivery milestones and customer outcomes.
  • You are an Australian Citizen who currently holds at least an NV2 Australian Government security clearance and able to obtain and maintain a clearance up to TSPV. Candidates who currently hold an active TSPV security clearance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Advantageous

  • You've delivered Defence & Intelligence acquisition, systems integration, transition or sustainment programs and understand the challenges of operating within complex customer environments.
  • You have experience leading programs involving multiple stakeholders, subcontractors or integrated delivery teams across distributed locations.
  • You bring familiarity with program governance frameworks, commercial management, customer engagement and strategic planning activities.
  • You understand the security, regulatory and operational considerations associated with delivering solutions for Defence, Intelligence and national security customers.

What to Expect When You Apply

Our hiring process is designed to be straightforward, respectful and easy to navigate. If your skills, experience and qualifications look aligned with the role, our Talent Acquisition team will contact you to discuss the next stage. You can expect:

  • An initial conversation with our Talent Acquisition team
  • An interview with the hiring manager or interview panel
