Job summary

Colli Timber and Hardware in Western Australia seeks an Estimator/Detailer to support client projects across our stores. You will liaise with clients, vendors, and team members to formulate estimates, address concerns, and coordinate schedules.

Design truss and wall frames using computer software, prepare drawings and cost reports, and monitor project costs as projects progress. Two years' experience preferred, with strong knowledge of building codes.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Building, Construction, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field (Engineering qualifications may also be considered).
• Minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience in a similar role, focusing on truss and wall frame design, cost estimation, and project coordination.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in design software for trusses and wall frames.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and tracking project expenses.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers to understand project needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and team members to formulate estimates, address project concerns, and coordinate schedules.
• Interpret building plans, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure compliance.
• Design truss and wall frames using computer software, based on provided plans.
• Prepare and revise drawings, specifications, and layout plan as needed.
• Analyze blueprints and documentation to estimate time, costs, materials, and labor, helping in vendor selection and budgeting.
• Monitor and track project costs, ensuring estimates remain accurate as the project progresses.
