Job summary

$89,002 - $102,806 plus super, allowances and overtime available

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our Open Space and Trees team as Tree Crew Supervisor. You will lead a team of arborists and apprentices responsible for delivering Council's 24/7 reactive tree maintenance services.

This hands-on leadership role combines people management with operational oversight. You will develop team capability, support employee growth, drive performance and wellbeing, and create an environment where people are empowered to do their best work.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead, coach and develop a team of arborists and apprentices, building a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will support employee development through regular feedback, mentoring and performance conversations while promoting safety, wellbeing and exceptional customer service.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate resources and prioritise works to ensure service delivery objectives are achieved. You will also build strong relationships across Council, contractors and the community to support positive outcomes and service excellence.

About You

You have proven experience leading operational teams, building capability, managing performance and fostering positive workplace cultures. You are confident providing direction, building trust and empowering employees to achieve their best.

With strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you can balance operational demands with a genuine commitment to people, safety and continuous improvement.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance operational priorities with people-focused leadership. Your ability to motivate teams, foster collaboration and maintain positive stakeholder relationships will be critical to your success in this role.
