Job summary

Jobtailor in Sydney, Australia seeks a hardworking outdoor laborer to perform manual vegetation removal and operate forestry equipment such as woodchippers, hydraulic gear, and chainsaws. You will carry out line clearance, pruning and removals in an outdoor setting.

You will learn tree care basics including felling, climbing, rigging, and equipment operation, while working full time year-round in varying weather conditions and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must be able to work outside in various types of weather.
• Must be physically able to walk on uneven ground and carry 75 lbs.
• Must be willing to work at varying heights up to 75 feet.
• Must be willing and able to learn how to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a CDL Class 3 license.
• Must be able to obtain First Aid and WHIMIS Certifications.
• Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications as required by the position.
• Must successfully complete a post-offer physical and drug screen.
• Must successfully complete a background and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities

• Perform manual removal of vegetation from work areas.
• Safely operate forestry equipment, including woodchippers, hydraulic equipment, and chainsaws.
• Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals.
• Learn all aspects of the tree care trade, including felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management.
